If you earned less than €15,028 a year but earned more than €289 a week, then get an Income Levy Refund in 2010.

We will also check for regular Income Tax and Health Levy refunds.

 The Income Levy was introduced for 2009 and within 4 months was doubled for most people in the April 2009 Budget.  But should you be paying Income levy?

It's worth checking if you are exempt from the income levy.  You are exempt from the income levy if:

  • Your income for a year does not exceed €15,028 p.a.
  • You are aged 65 or over and your annual income does not exceed €20,000 p.a.
  • You are a Full medical card holder
  • Social Welfare payments are also excluded from the income levy

 

Claim Income Levy Refunds

You will have received an Income Levy Certificate from each employer you had in 2009 and 2010.  send these to us with our Tax Refund claim form and we will claim all your refunds due.

 

2011 - Income Levy Abolished

Yes, after 2 years, the Income Levy is gone and you will not see it on your Payslip in 2011. 

But it has been replaced with the Universal Social Charge (USC).   Find out how this change will affect you.

Of course, if you overpaid Income Levy in 2009 or 2010, we can still claim refunds of this for you.
